Pedro Fábregas serves as the President and CEO of Envoy Air, guiding it to become one of the largest regional airlines globally. With a workforce of over 20,000 employees, Envoy Air operates more than 800 daily flights across 160 cities in various regions, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and The Bahamas. Pedro’s journey in the aviation industry began in 1983 at American Airlines, where he advanced through various roles in Customer Service, Operations, and Finance, ultimately holding the position of Vice President of Finance & Planning. He later became the President and CEO of Executive Airlines, a subsidiary of AMR Corp at the time.
Pedro holds a Bachelor’s degree in Administration and Finance from the University of the Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico and a Master’s degree from the University of Miami’s School of Business Administration in Coral Gables, Florida.
Beyond his leadership at Envoy Air, Pedro is a Senior Vice President at American Airlines and an officer at American Airlines Group, its parent company. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the American Airlines Federal Credit Union and has spent eight years on the Board of Overseers for the University of Miami’s School of Business.
His contributions and leadership have earned him widespread recognition, including a spot on the “Corporate Elite” list by Hispanic Business Magazine in 2013, celebrating the top 25 Hispanic business leaders in America. For nine consecutive years, D CEO magazine has listed him among the Dallas 500, the most influential business leaders in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Additionally, the Dallas Business Journal honored him as one of North Texas’s Most Admired CEOs, and he received the Reader’s Choice Award.
Dee Temples oversees several critical departments at Envoy Air, including Line & Base Maintenance, Technical Services, Flight Operations, and System Operations Control. With extensive experience at both Trans World Airlines Inc. and Envoy Air, Temples previously held the position of Vice President of Planning & Treasury at Envoy from 2011 to 2013. Before that, he led Envoy’s Financial Planning & Analysis teams.
Dee joined TWA in 1998 and served in various capacities, spanning engine overhaul processes, aircraft modifications, sales strategies, fleet planning, flight profitability, and the integration of regional jet flying at Trans World Express.
With a lifelong passion for aviation and transportation systems, Dee obtained his Private Pilot License at 18 and worked as an Operations Officer at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport in North Carolina before embarking on his airline career.
Dee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Clemson University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
John Jaynes oversees all ground handling operations at Envoy, where a workforce of over 13,000 employees manages 1,425 daily departures across 116 airports in the United States, Canada, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. Previously, he served as Vice President, Airport Services Planning, overseeing Envoy’s ground handling business with key airline partners such as United and Delta. His roles at Envoy have also included Vice President, Divestiture and Transition Services, focusing on the potential divestiture of Eagle, as well as Vice President, Airport Services and Vice President, Operations Planning and Performance.
John joined American Airlines in 1985 as a Crew Systems Analyst, and he has since held various management roles in marketing and planning, including Managing Director – Marketing Planning/Consumer Research and Managing Director – Food and Beverage Services. John joined Envoy in 1998.
John is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master’s Degree from MIT’s Flight Transportation Laboratory.
John Nicks holds the position of Senior Vice President of Corporate Services at Envoy, where his responsibilities include managing the company’s Purchasing, Contracts, Inventory Control/Logistics, Stores, and Vendor Relations. Additionally, he provides oversight for Envoy’s Trade Compliance and Regulatory programs, as well as its Corporate Real Estate functions.
With a wealth of aviation experience spanning over four decades, John’s profound understanding and expertise in airline operations have played a pivotal role in Envoy’s advancement and growth. His journey with American Airlines Group commenced in 1988 as Vice President of Administration, where he supervised Human Resources, Information Technology, and Corporate Real Estate departments. Notably, John made significant contributions to the merger of the original five airlines that culminated in the formation of American Eagle in 1998.
Beginning his career at Air Virginia subsequent to obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Lynchburg Baptist College, John has occupied various roles, including Vice President of Schedules and Planning and Vice President of Customer Service.
In 2019, Kara McKinney assumed the role of Vice President of Finance and Planning at Envoy Air, where she oversees all financial and accounting activities and plays a pivotal role in the Company’s strategic planning. In December 2021, Kara was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President of Finance & Planning and Chief Financial Officer.
Kara joined Envoy in 2009 as a Financial Analyst and has since taken on various roles, including Manager of Cooperative Advertising and Marketing, as well as Controller for Envoy’s Air Operations division. She played a significant analytical role during the American Airlines bankruptcy proceedings and subsequent merger with US Airways.
Kara holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of North Texas, is actively engaged as a member of the Supervisory Committee of the American Airlines Credit Union, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce.
Christopher Pappaioanou joined Envoy in 2015 with the responsibility of overseeing the airline’s Legal, Labor, and Employment teams.
Chris brings a blend of legal and airline operational expertise to his role. Prior to joining Envoy, he served as Senior Vice President, East Coast Operations for Mesa Airlines, where he managed hub operations in Charlotte (CLT), Washington Dulles (IAD), and Chicago O’Hare (ORD). Previously, Chris held the position of President at go! Airlines, where he was accountable for the overall operational and financial performance of the Hawaii-based carrier.
Chris holds an MBA from Yale University, a Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law, and a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Financial Management from Ball State University. He began his career as an attorney and has assumed roles of increasing responsibility, with a focus on labor, employment, and business development. In 2021, D Magazine recognized Chris as Outstanding In-House Counsel for his professional achievements at Envoy.
With over three decades of aviation expertise, Captain Scott Trepinski, PhD is Envoy’s FAA-designated Director of Safety. In this capacity, he holds responsibility for the oversight and efficacy of various safety initiatives, including the airline’s Safety Management System (SMS), Aviation Safety Action Programs (ASAP), Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA), and Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS).
Scott embarked on his journey with Envoy as a line pilot and holds type ratings for three distinct commercial aircraft. He serves as an envoy for Envoy, sharing his fervor for aviation safety through presentations at numerous industry gatherings and as a graduate adjunct professor, instructing aviation safety at two universities.
Scott holds a PhD in Education from Liberty University, a master’s degree in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri, and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona.
Chanen Lively joined Envoy in 2016 as an in-house attorney, overseeing a range of legal, labor, and employment issues for the airline. She now serves as the Vice President of Human Resources & Employment Counsel, leading the team that provides essential support to the airline’s more than 20,000 employees, including pay, benefits, and policies.
With degrees from Southern Methodist University and The John Marshall Law School, Chanen began her career in Chicago, gaining experience in employment and business litigation, as well as court proceedings in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Proficient in researching and presenting complex legal issues, Chanen has served as a law clerk, associate, and hearing representative at various firms, accumulating extensive experience in employment matters.
Captain Ric Wilson serves as the Vice President of Flight Operations and the FAA-designated Director of Operations for Envoy Air. In this capacity, he supervises all aspects of the airline’s flight operations, leading a team of over 2,000 skilled aviators. He holds overall responsibility and operational authority for ensuring regulatory, safety, and security compliance, as well as for ensuring the efficient and punctual execution of the airline’s daily flight operations.
With more than 40 years of aviation experience, including over 30 years at Envoy, Ric has accumulated a wealth of expertise. Throughout his tenure at Envoy, he has held various positions within the Flight, Dispatch, and Safety departments. Notably, he served as the Vice President of Safety & Compliance, overseeing all facets of corporate safety for a workforce of 16,000 employees. Additionally, he held the role of Vice President of System Operations Control, where he managed the company operations center, which supervised flight dispatch, meteorology, navigation, and crew tracking for 1,200 daily domestic and international flight operations. In this capacity, he was responsible for planning and logistical support for crew allocations, crew planning, and crew analysis, addressing all aspects of pilot and flight attendant staffing.
Captain Wilson is rated to fly various aircraft types, including the BA-3100, SF-340, ATR-72, EMB-145, and CRJ-700. He currently holds a type rating on the Embraer ERJ-175.
Ric holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Technology from LeTourneau University, with a focus on engineering and mechanics. He has completed an Advanced Executive Program at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, as well as an Aviation Safety and Security Program at George Washington University. In addition to being an FAA-licensed Air Transport Pilot with over 7,000 hours of flight experience, Ric is also an FAA-licensed Aircraft Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.
Linda Kunz oversees Envoy’s Flight Service department, where she manages a team of 2,000 Flight Attendants responsible for delivering service on Envoy’s flights across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
With extensive experience in the airline industry, Linda has not only held management positions but has also served customers directly on the front lines. She began her career as a flight attendant with Ozark Air Lines, later transitioning to Trans World Airlines (TWA) after their acquisition of Ozark.
During her tenure at TWA, Linda occupied various staff and line roles across Inflight Services, Flight Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Corporate Safety, and Training. Progressing steadily within the organization, she ultimately assumed the role of Director of Inflight Operations, where she supervised TWA’s inflight communications, policies and procedures, duty-free services, in-seat catalog, and website. Following the merger of TWA with American in April 2001, Linda continued her career at Envoy, holding her current position as Vice President – Flight Service.
Linda holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University.
Curtis Coble oversees Envoy’s Heavy Maintenance bases, as well as Engineering, Technical Publications, Quality Control, Training, and the procurement of On-call Maintenance. He previously held the position of Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering at Envoy.
Curtis joined Envoy in September 2007, after serving with American Airlines as a Product Manager, where he managed engine, support shops, and line maintenance at American’s Kansas City (MCI) maintenance base. In this previous role, he led a management team responsible for directing union workers and overseeing the repair of PW2037 jet engines. Additionally, he was accountable for all hangar support functions and component repair.
Prior to his tenure at American Airlines, Curtis served as the Director of Business Partners and Airline Information Services at Trans World Airlines, where he provided leadership for IT transition activities during TWA’s integration into American Airlines. His career began at Boeing Commercial Airplane Co. as a System Analyst. In his final role at Boeing, Curtis served as Manager of Production Control, Sheet Metal Center, where he developed short- and long-term production/capacity plans and managed detailed material requirements using an MRP II system.
Curtis is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian College, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Marketing. Additionally, he holds Airframe & Powerplant licenses.
Jay Murray is accountable for all aspects of Envoy’s daily Maintenance operations, encompassing Maintenance Operations Control (MOC), maintenance planning, and line maintenance operations. With an extensive tenure of over three decades in the airline industry, Jay began his career at Business Express Airlines. There, he steadily advanced through various roles, commencing as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and progressing to positions such as Crew Chief, Supervisor, and Base Manager.
Following the acquisition of Business Express by American Eagle in 2001, Murray continued his career trajectory, serving in roles such as Maintenance Manager in Bangor, Maine, Base Director of Envoy Air’s maintenance operation in Columbus, Ohio, and Manager Director of Northeast Region Maintenance.
In his capacity as Managing Director of Southern Region Maintenance, Jay supervised Envoy’s line maintenance bases at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and Miami International Airport (MIA).
Jay holds an Associate Degree in Technology from Hudson Valley College, along with an Aviation Maintenance diploma and A&P License from Riverside School of Aeronautics in Rome, New York.
John Dixon assumed the role of Vice President of Crew Planning in 2018, where he holds responsibility for the recruitment, assignment, and scheduling of pilots and flight attendants. In this capacity, he supervises Pilot Recruiting, Flight Simulator Planning & Scheduling, and Crew Scheduling. Previously, John held positions as Managing Director of Crew Resources and Director of Maintenance Safety and Compliance.
With over 17 years of service in the U.S. Army, National Guard, and Reserves, John acquired his pilot’s license in 1985 and served in various capacities as a pilot, instructor, and warrant officer. His journey in the aviation industry commenced in 1989 when he joined American Eagle Airlines as a Fleet Service Clerk in Philadelphia. Subsequently, he relocated to Dallas/Fort Worth, where he served as a Pilot Ground Instructor before assuming numerous management roles within the airline’s Flight Department.
In 1998, John transitioned to the role of First Officer for American Eagle. Throughout his 25-year tenure with the carrier, his expertise and insights as a pilot and instructor were consistently relied upon, as he fulfilled various roles in recruitment, procurement, regulatory affairs, and flight administration.
Kevin Ward oversees Envoy’s ground handling policies and procedures, directing its ground handling operations and supervising four Customer Service regions spanning more than 50 cities. Envoy offers ground handling services for numerous flights within the American Airlines Group.
With over 25 years of aviation expertise, Kevin has previously served as Vice President of the DFW hub and has held various Regional Managing Director positions during his tenure at Envoy.
Originally from New York, Kevin earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. His career commenced at American Airlines in Rochester in 1987, where he started as a Fleet Service Clerk.
Jude Mayeux oversees customer service operations across five Envoy regions, spanning multiple cities throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. His career journey began in 1992 as a station agent at American Eagle Airlines in his hometown of Alexandria, LA.
Throughout his tenure, Jude has held various Regional Managing Director roles and played a pivotal role in the substantial growth of ground handling services in 2012-2013. He brings a wealth of operational experience, having managed large airport operations and departments at Envoy’s major hubs.
Jude holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Louisiana State University Alexandria. The Mayeux family actively supports the Airport Area YMCA in Bedford, TX, participating in programs that benefit local youth and seniors.
José Velez-Rubio rejoined Envoy in 2015 as the Vice President of its Dallas/Fort Worth hub. Prior to this role, he held the position of Director of Customer Care and Operations for American Airlines at New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA).
José commenced his career with American Airlines in 1985 as a Fleet Service Clerk, swiftly progressing to roles such as Passenger Service Lead Agent, Ramp Service Supervisor, and subsequently Ramp Manager. In 1997, he was appointed Regional Manager for American Eagle in the Caribbean, and two years later assumed the role of Director of American Eagle for the San Juan Hub (SJU).
Subsequently, José served as Vice President of International Operations for American Eagle in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and Bahamas, with additional responsibilities for the Flight Service organization. He also held the position of American’s General Manager in Fort Lauderdale before returning to American Eagle in 2012.
Hailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, José pursued studies in Business Administration at the University of the Sacred Heart.
Migdoel Rosa oversees Envoy’s airport operations at its Miami hub and across Florida. With more than three decades of experience within the company, he has held various managerial roles.
Beginning his career in the airline industry with American Airlines Ramp Services, Migdoel served as Ramp Services Manager for American Eagle Airlines. Throughout his tenure, he occupied several positions, including Ramp Service Manager, Passenger Service Manager, and General Manager, eventually ascending to the role of Vice President of International Operations.
Under Migdoel’s leadership, Envoy’s operations at MIA have undergone significant transformation. From its humble beginnings as a small, secluded operation with fewer than 40 daily flights in 2011, it has evolved into a pioneering ground handler commanding the entire Envoy system. It has become the second-largest employer in the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD), boasting a diverse and intricate operation spanning the entire airport. This transformation has not only enhanced Envoy’s brand but has also maintained a robust flying business alongside a dynamic ground handling operation.
Migdoel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and is a licensed aircraft dispatcher.
Ricky Deane oversees Envoy’s operations at Chicago, which stands as the airline’s second-largest hub, facilitating over 300 daily departures. Additionally, he holds direct supervision over the ground operations of other American Eagle carriers at the same hub. With a primary focus on safety and reliability, Ricky ensures compliance with regulatory standards, manages contracts, and nurtures vendor relationships.
With over two decades of experience in aviation, Ricky’s journey began as a supervisor at a small charter company in the Caribbean. He then transitioned through various roles within American Eagle Airlines, including serving as Ramp Manager for the Boston Hub, Country Manager for the Bahamas, and Vice President for the Miami hub.
Customer service, whether internal or external, remains Ricky’s true passion, as he continuously seeks innovative approaches to enhance relationships with both customers and employees. Originally from the United Kingdom, Ricky obtained an Associates degree in Accounting from North London College.
Frank Reynolds oversees Envoy’s operations in New York and throughout the Northeast Region, which includes John F. Kennedy International (JFK) and LaGuardia International (LGA) airports, as well as 14 neighboring airports. Previously, Frank held positions as Regional Managing Director for the East and Canadian Region, as well as Northeast Hub Regional Managing Director.
In addition to Envoy’s operations, Frank supervises the ground handling operations of American Airlines and Republic Airways. He joined American Eagle in 2001 following American’s acquisition of TWA, where he had held numerous management roles, with his most recent position being Managing Director of New York/Caribbean operations.
Deesha Desai is in charge of Envoy’s extensive ground-handling operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), along with overseeing multiple airport operations across the Western U.S. Previously, she held the position of Managing Director Customer Services Planning, where her duties included establishing policies, procedures, and staffing requirements for all ground handling teams.
Deesha embarked on her career in 2006 as a Station Agent and swiftly progressed to higher roles, serving as General Manager for various airports before transitioning to a leadership role at Envoy Headquarters.
Originally from Beaufort, S.C., Deesha earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from the University of South Carolina. She also holds a Global Leadership Executive MBA degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Mindi Kimmell leads a group of finance and administrative experts tasked with ensuring the efficient functioning of Envoy’s Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Attendance, and Payroll operations. Additionally, she spearheads the strategic vision and planning for maintaining Envoy’s employee data systems.
Beginning her tenure at Envoy in 2009 as a Financial Analyst, Mindi has been a key contributor to significant corporate endeavors. Her analytical prowess has been instrumental in supporting critical initiatives such as corporate restructuring and mergers.
Hailing from DeLeon, Texas, Mindi holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Texas Tech University.
With 31 years of experience in the aviation industry, Shannon leads a team comprising nearly 2,000 employees, including over 40 managers, at our Dallas-Fort Worth hub. She initiated her aviation journey with Simmons Airlines in Decatur, Illinois, later transitioning to Sarasota, Florida, and subsequently transferring to Tampa, Florida, to join American Airlines before returning to Envoy.
Central to Shannon’s leadership philosophy is a strong emphasis on our employees and fostering cohesive teamwork, essential for success at our largest hub operation. Employees are held accountable while being empowered to achieve their objectives.
Throughout her tenure with Envoy, Shannon’s career has been marked by continual growth and enhancement. She has held various General Manager roles and served as Program Manager for a portfolio within our ground handling business before ascending to the position of Managing Director of our DFW hub ramp operations.
Over the years, Shannon has played a pivotal role in numerous customer successes, including overseeing complex Corporate Real Estate (CRE) projects, enhancing our training protocols, and cultivating a diverse team comprising more than 60 Ramp Specialists at DFW.
Ramon Hernandez began his journey with Envoy over 35 years ago with Executive Airlines, a foundational regional carrier that later evolved into American Eagle Airlines in 1984 and eventually Envoy Air in 2014.
Starting as an Aircraft Mechanic, Ramon swiftly advanced through various roles, including Supervisor, Base Manager, Director of Maintenance, and Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering for Executive. Presently, he serves as the Regional Managing Director of Maintenance for Envoy, overseeing maintenance operations and strategic planning across vital locations such as Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Little Rock (LIT), Northwest Arkansas (XNA), and Phoenix (PHX).
Ramon holds a BBA in Aviation Management from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, alongside FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification and a private pilot license from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology. He assumed the role of Executive Airlines COO from 2011 to 2013, played a crucial role in the launch of the Embraer 175 fleet in 2014, and remains a respected and experienced leader, guiding a committed team of aircraft maintenance professionals.
Robert Nault supervises Envoy’s System Operations Control (SOC), an intricate organization overseeing various facets of airline operations. His responsibilities encompass monitoring all domestic and international flights operated by Envoy, utilizing advanced flight planning and tracking systems alongside satellite communications. Additionally, he supervises Meteorology and Navigation functions while offering extensive planning and logistical support for the airline.
Robert commenced his career at Simmons Airlines as a Reservations agent in 1984, in his hometown of Negaunee, Mich. He transitioned to the management team in 1988, accruing a wealth of operational expertise throughout his career.
Dedicated to supporting Envoy’s initiatives benefiting active military personnel and veterans, Robert actively contributes to the Gary Sinise Foundation. He facilitates the transportation of Sinise’s Lt. Dan Band as they tour to entertain service members and their families, coordinating various Envoy charters that support the military.
Christopher St. James joined Envoy in 2020, assuming the role of Counsel and Director of Legal, Labor, and Employment.
With a diverse professional background, Christopher brings extensive experience ranging from legal representation in both private and public sectors, to operations management and human resources for a nationwide food distributor. He began his career by operating forklifts.
As a legal professional, Christopher has handled a wide array of legal matters, including labor and employment issues, liability cases, civil rights disputes, procurement matters, contracting, and banking and finance transactions.
Christopher obtained his law degree from South Texas College of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and Utah.
Adam Simmons leads a team of communications and creative specialists responsible for managing all internal and external messaging, social media presence, media relations, and marketing initiatives at Envoy.
Joining Envoy in 2015 as a Communications Specialist, Adam has been instrumental in providing strategic communications guidance and support for various internal and external campaigns. These include significant initiatives such as HR Information System and Payroll changes, fleet announcements and enhancements, event support, recruitment campaigns, diversity messaging, and more.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Adam became a naturalized US citizen in 2020. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Media from Swansea University, UK, and a Master of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Leeds, UK.
