This week, Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) experienced two significant ground stops due to thunderstorms, causing more than 40 inbound flights to divert to other cities. Abilene (ABI) received nine of those flights – seven American Airlines mainline and two regional aircraft.
Despite a diversion limit of five flights and a gate area that comfortably holds only 80 passengers, Envoy’s Abilene team sprang into action and ensured that all flights were handled and passengers were back on their way to DFW as quickly as possible.
“It was a total team effort,” said General Manager Jill Tidwell. “I’m so proud of my team – and the great cooperation we received from the Abilene airport.”
