Aviation runs in the family

Today, thirty former Envoy pilots begin classes at American’s Training Center in Fort Worth, Texas on their journey to becoming American Airlines First Officers. And for one of those pilots, Rafael Morales, flowing to American holds extra significance, as it gives him the opportunity to work alongside his daughter, Gaviota.

On the same day that Gaviota had her interview with American’s Flight Service team, Rafael celebrated his upgrade to Envoy CRJ-700 Captain. Just one year later, Gaviota met with her father after his last flight as an Envoy Captain. “Envoy and American Eagle have been a large part of our lives since we lived in San Juan, Puerto Rico,” said Gaviota. “Thank you to Envoy for training this awesome professional. Words can’t describe how proud I am. Just wait until I get to pin your wings!”
