60 Second Interview: Captain Anselm “Ace” Dewar

Posted

In celebration of Black History Month, we’re sharing a series of sixty-second interviews from the African-American employees and leaders all across the Envoy operation. For this installment, we hear from Captain Anselm Dewar, a Miami-based Envoy pilot.

What makes you proud?

What makes me proud is knowing where I came from, overcoming the obstacles that were setting me back and achieving my dream.

Who inspires you and why?

My parents are my biggest inspiration. They always knew I had the ability to achieve my dreams and encouraged me even when I doubted myself.

What do you love about your job?

I love the pilot life, because of the responsibilities, the places you go and the people I work with. Envoy is like a little family and I’m always meeting new and interesting people.

If you were not in the aviation industry, what other job would you do?

Dancing has been a passion of mine since high school and I still practice with a pop n’ lock crew in my spare time.

Tell us one or two things on your bucket list.

I would like to eventually start a family… and own a Porsche 911!
