OK State Flying Aggies visit American Airlines

Last week, 40 students from Envoy’s Cadet Program partner school, Oklahoma State University visited the American Airlines Headquarters campus and were treated to a special tour. All the students who attended were members of the Flying Aggies flight club, a student organization at OSU.

The student group was hosted by the American Airlines Cadet Academy, in partnership with Envoy’s Air Operations Recruitment team. During their visit, students got a behind-the-scenes look at American’s Flight Academy, Skyview 8, Integrated Operations Center (IOC), C.R. Smith Museum, and they even got a sneak peek at American’s brand-new hotel and hospitality complex, Skyview 6.

The group had the opportunity to meet with AA Chief Operating Officer David Seymour and AA Vice President of Flight Russ Moore to hear more about the values, culture, and standards American upholds. While at the IOC, they also heard from Airbus and Boeing fleet managers, who answered questions about the aircraft.

Finally, the group heard from Envoy Pilot Recruitment Outreach Manager First Officer Austin Decker, who shared more information about the Envoy Cadet Program and officially welcomed new Cadet Instructor Aubrey Sills, who passed their interview the day prior.

“It was a full day of previewing what the future holds for these aviation students,” said First Officer Austin Decker. “My hope is that the students leave here today with the excitement and motivation to continue to work hard when they return to school. We’d love to see them at Envoy and American Airlines one day!”
