Last month, the Envoy team at Evansville Regional Airport (EVV) celebrated yet another American Airlines Customer Cup win with a catered lunch and cupcakes in-between turning our aircraft. This win for the first quarter of 2025 (1Q25) was their second in a row and the team’s fifth time overall bringing home the Customer Cup trophy.
“I can’t stress how proud I am of all of you,” said Envoy Regional Managing Director, Northeast Kathy Rice. “Safety is big in winning and it is because you all ensure you run a safe operation that you’ve gotten to this point. I appreciate everything you do and I’m so glad to be back here celebrating another win with you.”
Though a handful of the people celebrating this 1Q25 win were also present for Team EVV’s very first win in 2Q16, a newer face joined the team just a few weeks before the win was announced and took the opportunity to congratulate the team on their success.
“I inherited an incredible team, I’ve only been here a few weeks but I’m already so proud,” said Envoy EVV General Manager Abner Fuentes during the celebration. “Coming from working in a different area of the operation in MIA to lead the team here at EVV has been a big shift, but your ability to collaborate and succeed as a team has made the transition great for me, and this award is well-deserved.”
The team even had a VIP stop in to celebrate the win with them – their former General Manager, Derrick Ford, who now leads the Envoy team at Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) in Greensboro, NC.
“One of the things I noticed during all our past wins is that each of those quarters we dealt with some kind of adversity that could have thrown us off our game but didn’t,” said Derrick. “From unpredictable ice storms to technology issues that had us down a gate for awhile, this team not only got through but succeeded in every way they could. You’re under great new leadership and I’m excited to see what lies ahead for EVV.”
Here’s to growing that trophy collection, Team EVV!
