DFW hosts Mental Health Awareness Event

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. To recognize the importance of mental health, on Wednesday, May 28, the Envoy Customer Services team at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in partnership with the Envoy Culture, Engagement and Respect at Work (CREW) team, hosted a Mental Health Awareness event that offered employees the chance to connect with resources that are available through the Envoy Employee Assistance Program (EAP), as well as local partners in the DFW area.

Booths at this event included MindstreamTrinity River RecoveryAscend Behavioral Health, and of course, the Envoy EAP, each providing insight into services like counseling, work-life coaching, and overall recovery support.

Martha Gonzalez, DFW Airport Services Manager as well as Georgina Felix, Customer Services Supervisor, highlighted the importance that “knowledge is power.” They believe that events like this break down stigmas, promote awareness of healthy boundaries, and emphasize the importance of accessible, continuous learning to become your best self. As we say on every flight, “Put on your own mask first before helping others,” and of course, this applies to mental health as well. Employees should take advantage of these resources to prioritize their own well-being, knowing that caring for themselves allows them to better support those around them.
