We asked Sabrina to share more about her journey with Envoy and what she enjoys outside of work.

Can you tell us about your career path and what led you to your current position?
I fell in love with traveling when I started working as a flight attendant in 1996, a role I held for 12 years. Despite a six-year hiatus from 2008 to 2014, I always wanted to return to the airline industry and expand my knowledge. I was originally hired as a gate agent with Envoy in 2014, and shortly after, I moved into an administrative assistant position reporting directly to the vice president of Envoy Hub Operations at LAX. Working closely with our vice president taught me many different facets of our operation and helped me understand each department and its needs. Recently, I was promoted to administrative supervisor.

What do you believe sets your approach to work apart from others?
I believe communication is essential to supporting our departments—understanding their needs, equipping them with the right tools, and collaborating on creative solutions. I also believe communication should always be respectful, even in moments of disagreement. My approach may be a little different in that I try to consider the other person’s perspective before responding or taking action.

Are there any memorable moments or significant milestones in your career that stand out to you?
Winning the President’s Award is an honor I will never forget!
One of my favorite memories is choreographing our Bruno Mars dance routine for the Customer Cup winning event in 2015. We got to dance in the LAX terminal!

How do you stay motivated and maintain high standards in your work?
I stay motivated by thinking about the bigger picture of our operation. Maybe I play only a small part, but if our employees are happy, then our customers are happy. Ultimately, we’re helping people travel to see loved ones, explore new destinations, attend business meetings, sporting events, and more.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of your career so far?
The most rewarding part of my job is having the opportunity to help others. Providing people with what they need to be successful makes me really happy. And sometimes, all someone needs is just someone to listen.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned throughout your career?
The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is not to take things personally—and that you can achieve almost anything if you believe in yourself.

Are there any hobbies or interests outside of work that you’re passionate about?
Outside of work, I dabble in theater and film acting. I also volunteer with assisted living facilities and animal rescues, focusing mostly on cat rescues. And of course, I love to travel!
