What began as a typical day at the Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport (LAW) turned into anything but when a passenger experienced a medical event while checking in for her flight.
Immediately noticing a customer in distress, Envoy Customer Service Agent Jermaka Pearson and Customer Service Supervisor James Walters jumped into action and began to help the customer and assisted her until medical professionals arrived.
“Jermaka and James used their first aid and CPR training to ensure the passenger was still breathing and stayed with her until paramedics arrived on the scene,” Envoy LAW General Manager Michelle Ward shared in her nomination message. “Their quick thinking and lifesaving actions helped make a huge difference during this event.”
The Real American Hero award comes with a special hero cape and $1,000 in Nonstop Thanks points. With capes in hand, the station brought in barbecue from a local restaurant and recognized our latest lifesavers.
Thank you for looking out for our passengers and keeping safety a priority, Jermaka and James!
