Last month, the Rotary to Airline Group (RTAG) hosted its annual convention at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Presented by American Airlines, the event drew more than 4,000 diverse and enthusiastic attendees in pursuit of fixed-wing aviation careers gathered to meet potential employers and celebrate their love of aviation throughout the two-day event.
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of an Airline Career
Among RTAG attendees was veteran and Envoy Cadet Instructor Matt Vlasak of L3 Flight School in Orlando, Florida. Growing up with three flight attendants in his family, Matt has always loved flying and knew he wanted to be a pilot for a living. After serving in the US Marine Corps for six years, Matt began his flight training. Reflecting on his path into aviation, he shared “There are many different pathways to start an airline career, and Envoy is a great first step. I appreciate the ease of mind the Cadet Program offers and look forward to flying for Envoy, flowing through and flying for American Airlines one day.”
Veterans Just Want to Have Fun
After the event, Envoy Pilot Recruiters attended the ‘80s Party and Awards Ceremony to celebrate RTAG scholarship winners. As a Gold Level Sponsor, Envoy presented two $5,000 scholarships to Tom Streit and Ryan Forto. Both amounts were matched by RTAG, totaling $10,000 each.
Envoy is proud to support RTAG and its dedication to helping thousands of servicemembers, regardless of experience, transition into the aviation industry. Today and every day, we celebrate all that America’s Veterans have done for our country. Thank you for your service.
