Live from Puerto Rico: Girls In Aviation Day

Posted

Last October, Envoy employees in partnership with our colleagues at American, joined together in San Juan, Puerto Rico for a Girls in Aviation event, sponsored by the Women in Aviation International (WAI), Puerto Rico Chapter and the “Alphas”. The Alphas are a group of young and future professionals, ages 10-17 years old, who host educational seminars every quarter, with the goal of sharing career possibilities in aviation with the younger generation.

This free event consisted of a panel of speakers, featuring Envoy Captain Carol Dow, Envoy First Officer Sara Hoffmann, American Airlines First Officer Camila Decamps and Envoy Flight Attendant Neshmaida Sanchez. Attendees could join either virtually, or in-person, to meet these professionals and learn about aviation, airplanes, drones, air traffic control, the aviation business, airports, engineering, etc.

“It was so fun and rewarding to connect with girls interested in a career in the aviation industry,” shared Flight Attendant Neshmaida Sanchez. “We had positive feedback from everyone we spoke to, and I hope to see some of these girls working for Envoy and American in the future!”
