Inspiring future aviators with Women In Aviation

Posted

We’re always looking to inspire the next generation of aviators, and Envoy First Officer Nicole Gallagher is doing just that. In addition to her recent role as Social Media Chair for the chapter, Nicole recently supported in a Women in Aviation Tampa Bay Chapter event, focused on encouraging kids to join this great industry. During the event, Nicole spoke to the Civil Air Patrol Cadets and the aviation class of Azalea Middle School in St. Petersburg, Florida. She shared a presentation with the students to educate them on the different career options that exist within the aviation industry and urged them to get involved in the WAI Tampa Bay Chapter.

Nicole was joined by YouTube personality and helicopter pilot, Steven Carlson, and his flight instructor. Together, they were able to coordinate a helicopter fly-in, which landed on the school’s football field to allow students to have a closer look. After the presentations, students were able to ask questions and speak one-on-one with the presenters.

“The event was a total success,” shared Nicole. “It was so exciting to see the students’ reactions to the fly-in and witness their interest in aviation take off before our very eyes! I look forward to being involved in more events like this in the future and doing my part to help inspire the next generation of aviators.”
