End of an Era: Farewell to the Embraer 145 at Envoy

Posted

On Wednesday, May 31, AA4233 from Central Wisconsin (CWA) to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) marked the final scheduled revenue flight for our Embraer 145 (E145) aircraft. Bringing this journey full circle, the aircraft’s first flight with Envoy departed out of ORD on May 15, 1998.

Over the last 25 years, our E145 fleet operated more than 4 million departures and helped more than 150 million customers safely reach their destinations.

“The launch of American Eagle regional jet service in May 1998 was an important milestone for our company and our customers,” said Envoy Senior Vice President, Air Operations, Dee Temples. “Our Regional Jet fleet enabled Envoy and the customers we serve to reach new markets and destinations with speed and comfort. This process continues today with our growing fleet of large Regional Jets [E170/175].”

As we say a fond farewell to this important part of our Company’s history, we celebrate the thousands of employees whose contributions, expertise and dedication made the E145 fleet such a success over the last 25 years – thank you for everything you do!
