Supporting Our Communities for World Autism Month

April marked World Autism Month, and teams in Miami (MIA) and Tyler (TYR) came together to recognize the occasion and give back to their communities.

In TYR, Tyler Junior College partnered with Envoy and Tyler Pounds Regional Airport to host an immersive airport experience for families with children with autism. More than 100 participants moved through the full travel journey, including TSA screening, boarding by group and valet bag tagging, before walking down the jet bridge as they would for a real flight.

“This event was designed to give families a real-time airport experience and help gauge how children would respond in that setting,” said Tyler General Manager Clyde Sanders. “From TSA screening to boarding and walking down the jet bridge, we wanted each step to feel as close to a real trip as possible.”

The hands-on experience helps build familiarity and confidence, supporting smoother travel in the future. Great job, TYR, for helping set these families up for success.

In Miami, the team marked its fourth consecutive year supporting Autism Speaks, a national organization focused on creating a more inclusive world for individuals with autism. Volunteers from Support Services, led by Luis Carrodeguas, raised funds through a bake sale in the break room. Thank you to the MIA team for your continued generosity and commitment to making a difference.

Together, these efforts reflect Envoy teams’ commitment to creating more inclusive, supportive experiences both in our workplaces and the communities we serve.
