Customer Cup: RSW is Breaking Records

The Envoy and American teams at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, Florida are not just on a winning streak, they’re breaking records as well. With yet another American Airlines Customer Cup win for the second quarter of 2026 (2Q26) for outstanding customer satisfaction and operational metrics, the team now holds the coveted award of most Customer Cup wins for a domestic outstation across the American Airlines global network. Joint second place for domestic outstations? The Envoy and American teams at Charleston, South Carolina (CHS) and Houston Intercontinental (IAH) with six Cup wins each.

More impressive – Six out of these seven wins at RSW have come in the last three years, with wins in 1Q, 3Q and 4Q of 2023; 2Q and 3Q of 2025; and now 2Q26.

“Breaking records and earning seven Cup wins does not happen by accident,” says American Airlines Regional Managing Director, Southeastern Region, Philip Dupree during the station’s Cup celebration. “It’s a combination of perfect days, financials, safety and most of all, close and collaborative teamwork over the long run.”

“It’s great to visit stations like Fort Myers and see the American and Envoy relationship working so well,” adds Envoy Senior Vice President, Customer Services, John Jaynes. “That relationship also extends to our airport partners, the TSA and everyone else that you work with here at RSW. It’s a team effort that continues to build on success.”

In the Customer Cup program, airports are grouped into categories based on operational likeness and ranked based on a wide range of operational and customer satisfaction metrics. Events such as injuries, aircraft and equipment damage are also considered to ensure that the program recognizes the best teams across American’s global network.

In Category 2 for 2Q26, the Fort Myers team was number one in agent delay handling, overall boarding and mishandled bag ratio (MBR), and a close second place in baggage sortation – all this added up to contribute to another well-earned win.

Under the Florida sunshine and during a break in the flight schedule, team RSW enjoyed their seventh Customer Cup celebration, complete with a food truck, an award ceremony hosted by RSW Envoy General Manager Maria Mayoli, giveaways from the Communications Workers of America (CWA), and smiles and laughter from a team that knows what success looks like and how to stay at the top of the game for long run.

Huge congratulations on your record-breaking Customer Cup win, team RSW!
