Each June, Pride Month offers an opportunity to reflect, learn and celebrate the stories that shape our shared experience.
Across Envoy’s network, employees honor the month in ways that reflect their communities, backgrounds and personal journeys.
To highlight these voices, we’re sharing a 60‑Second Interview featuring Phoenix-based Flight Attendant, Teresa Smith. She took time to share how she celebrates Pride, what she loves about working at Envoy and what she would do if she weren’t in aviation.
How do you celebrate Pride Month?
I celebrate by attending Pride parades with my cousin and going to different events around the Phoenix area with TMBG. It’s a great way to show support, connect with others and be part of the energy the community brings during the month.
What are some ways you celebrate and stay connected with the LGBTQIA+ community in your everyday life?
I stay connected by volunteering with organizations like One‑N‑Ten which supports LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults. Giving back through community work helps me stay involved year-round and support others in meaningful ways.
What do you love about your job?
I love meeting new people and building connections along the way. It also gives me the chance to continue sharpening my customer service skills with every flight.
If you were not in the aviation industry, what job would you do?
Criminal justice would be my dream. I’ve always been interested in roles like a district attorney or a homicide detective and making an impact in that field.
What makes you proud?
Being an ally and advocate for people to be unapologetically themselves. Supporting others and helping create a space where people feel accepted means a lot to me.
Tell us something on your bucket list.
Going to Bora Bora is definitely on my list. It’s a place I’ve always wanted to experience and explore.
Anything you want to share with us?
I enjoy doing MMA, which keeps me active and focused. I’m also a three‑time cancer survivor, which is something that has shaped my perspective and resilience.
