Building the Future: Envoy’s 2025 Interns Leave Their Mark

This summer, Envoy Air proudly hosted its largest intern program to date – 28 talented students from across the country joined teams all across our operation for an unforgettable experience. In addition to our Envoy Headquarters (EHQ) based roles, this year we also welcomed interns into our operations teams at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Miami International Airport (MIA) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for the first time, expanding the program into the heart of our airline’s hub operations.

Interns worked across a wide range of departments, including Legal, Flight Operations, and Purchasing & Contracts. Over the course of eleven weeks, they gained hands-on experience, built professional relationships, and explored the aviation industry from the inside out.

One of the highlights of the program was the opportunity for interns to travel and explore. Many took full advantage of their space-available flight privileges that were offered all summer by jetting off on weekend adventures and bonding with fellow interns on trips they took together. As Yashvi Mehta, Reliability Technical Services Intern, shared, “Flying standby with my fellow interns for a spontaneous weekend trip? Top-tier bonding and the kind of perk I’ll never forget!”

The program also included immersive visits and behind-the-scenes tours of DFW, the American Airlines Robert L. Crandall “Skyview” headquarters campus, and the Eagle Aviation Services Incorporated (EASI) operation at our Abilene (ABI) maintenance base. These experiences helped interns connect the dots between their work and the broader airline operation.

“Visiting American and touring the DFW airport operations was like watching a real-life version of all the data I’d been analyzing,” Yashvi added. “Everything suddenly clicked.”

For some interns, the summer offered a glimpse into future career paths. Gauri Nigwargi, Corporate Security Intern, reflected, “A rewarding part of my position was getting to travel with my manager to different stations to conduct security audits. These outings gave me hands-on exposure to operations on the ramp and helped me understand what those jobs are really like. This experience benefitted my career growth by making it clear that a field-based role is the direction I want to take long term.”

Other interns like Hannah Lindeman got even closer to the action with her role as part of our DFW hub operations team. “After completing  training, I was able to go out on the ramp once a week. I can say that I marshalled, loaded baggage, and pushed aircraft out of their gate for departures!”

We’re excited to continue building a pipeline of future aviation professionals—and to keep making memories along the way. As we wrap up this incredible summer, we’re already looking ahead to next year. Stay tuned for more information on open positions and how you can apply to be a part of our 2026 Summer Internship Program!
