Just like soccer players, Envoy teams out on the ramp also need their hydration breaks. And what better way to hydrate than with a fresh, sweet watermelon treat!
The leadership team at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) hosted a Watermelon Summer Hydration Event, sharing refreshing watermelon slices with Envoy teams both above and below the wing, along with our colleagues at American Airlines, DFW Airport, Menzies Aviation and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

“We wanted to recognize and thank our hardworking teams with a sweet watermelon treat,” said Shannon Marks, Managing Director of DFW Ramp Services. “While slicing hundreds of watermelon pieces is a big effort, it’s rewarding to give back to our frontline employees in a refreshing way during the hot summer days,” she continued.
Watermelon is incredibly hydrating — consisting of 92% water! During the summer heat, when ramp temperatures can soar well above 110°F, staying safe, hydrated, and cool is of the utmost importance.
Remember to beat the heat this summer by drinking plenty of liquids and being aware of the signs of heat-related illnesses, such as nausea, disorientation, and fainting.
Thank you to everyone who participated in making this event a success!
