As Miami, Florida (MIA) hosts FIFA World Cup matches and welcomes visitors from across the globe, Envoy’s MIA team continues to play an important role in supporting travelers with mobility needs. With more than 500,000 mobility assistance service requests already completed this year and more than 1 million expected by year-end, Support Services recently hosted a safety event focused on training, awareness and best practices for assisting customers safely and confidently.
The event provided employees with guidance on safely assisting wheelchair passengers and included demonstrations of aisle chair procedures designed to help build confidence when supporting customers with a variety of mobility needs. Through interactive training and discussion, employees strengthened their knowledge while reinforcing the importance of safety, consistency and compassionate customer care.
“Our customers trust us during some of the most important moments of their travel experience,” shared Luis Carrodeguas, Managing Director of Support Services at MIA. “Investing in safety training helps us deliver the care, professionalism and support they deserve.”
The event also highlighted several notable accomplishments for the team, including achieving a 29% reduction in the injury-on-duty rate so far this year and their 500,000 customers served. As MIA prepares to take on the rest of the year, Support Services remains focused on safety, training and supporting the employees who help keep the operation running smoothly.
