Last month, Envoy employees from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Envoy Headquarters (EHQ) spent their day volunteering at the Irving Cares Food Pantry.
On top of assisting with food processing and organization, the team gained valuable insight into the wide range of programs offered by Irving Cares, including emergency and disaster assistance, job skills training, housing support and summer food programs for school-age children.
“We worked great as a team and were able to accomplish everything expected and more,” said Envoy Ground Services Equipment Program Manager, Nicko Henderson. “Irving Cares has so many great resources for our community members, so I’m glad that we were able to spend our day supporting their efforts.”
Throughout the day, the team packed over 100 bags of produce and unpacked four pallets of canned goods and dried beans. All items were then moved to the Food Pantry’s refrigerators and shelving for easy access when packing the meal kits.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered during this event, and to everyone across the system who is working hard to care for the communities we serve.
