As we shared in June, Envoy Headquarters (EHQ) and three stations (DFW, LAX, MIA) are hosting Summer Interns this year. Teams across the system are working to ensure this year’s interns have a great experience with our airline.
Last month, the HR Talent Acquisition and Talent Development teams hosted an Intern Aviation Day with various activities rooted in hands-on learning. The first activity was a “Fireside Chat” where Interns were able to engage with Envoy leadership. Envoy Senior Vice President Chief Human Resources Officer & Employment Counsel Chanen Lively, Senior Vice President, Customer Services John Jaynes, and Envoy Vice President of LAX Hub Operations Deesha Desai were all present to answer our interns’ burning questions.
“Some choices, you may regret in hindsight, but each one shapes the leader you’re becoming,” said Chanen, “Stay curious, stay driven, and you’ll go far.”
After the fireside chat, Interns toured the System Operations Control (SOC) department at Envoy Headquarters (EHQ) as well as the Flight Attendant Cabin Trainers.
“I really enjoyed our tour of the EHQ facilities,” said Envoy DFW Air Operations Intern, Hannah Lindeman. “My work at DFW is very specialized, so it was interesting for me to learn a little bit more about what happens at EHQ. This served as a great learning opportunity, and provided quality time with my fellow interns.”
The interns joined employees from across the operation for “Destination: Envoy” to close out the day. They participated in various aviation themed activities including “guess the airport code” and a hands-on CPR demonstration with our flight attendant training team.
Thank you to everyone who supported this event for our interns!
