The Latino Professionals in Aerospace (LPA) held their third annual Industry Expo last month during National Hispanic Heritage Month in Orlando, Florida (MCO). The Expo, presented by American Airlines, celebrated the growth of the Latino community within the aviation and aerospace industries, along with the organization’s vision for the future.
A Ten-Year Legacy
This year marked LPA’s ten-year anniversary as a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization that inspires, mentors and develops Latino professionals by providing career advancement opportunities, fostering cultural pride, and creating space to attend workshops, networking events and meet-and-greets.
The organization was previously named Latino Pilots Association. Earlier this year, the organization updated their name and created a new visual identity — complete with new branding and logos — to reflect a continued commitment to breaking down barriers via representation, financial support, and educational initiatives.
At the Expo, nearly 3,000 attendees from around the world were onsite to engage and support one another. They also had the opportunity to learn from other organizations during a panel discussion, where representatives from the National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA), the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP), the Professional Asian Pilots Association (PAPA), the Arab American Aviation Professionals (AAAP) and Women in Aviation International (WAI) gathered to discuss representation, resilience, and the road ahead. Live auctions were also held, with funds going toward the 2026 LPA Scholarships.
Connecting Talent with Opportunity in the Skies
