On Saturday, October 25, 2025, the Envoy Team at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) had the pleasure of participating in the Annual Girl Scouts Aviation Event hosted by American Airlines. The day was filled with excitement, curiosity and inspiration as more than 100 Girl Scouts, ages 6 to 15, experienced a behind-the-scenes look at the world of aviation.
The day began with a truly special experience as the Girl Scouts boarded a Boeing 737 aircraft in the terminal and took a short “flight” around the LaGuardia Airport. To make the moment even more empowering, the flight featured an all-female American Airlines crew, from the flight deck to the cabin, supported by an all-female ground crew guiding the aircraft safely to its hangar parking spot.
Following the flight, participants visited stations hosted by Envoy, the New York Port Authority and several different American Airlines departments. Each one offered giveaways and engaging conversations, giving the girls a chance to ask questions and learn about aviation careers.
The day also featured fun photo opportunities — including snapshots with a Port Authority fire truck and even a chance to sit inside the cowling of a 737 engine. After lunch, the girls finished the day with a dance party before boarding the busses home with their chaperones.
“It was truly inspiring to see so many young women eager to explore the skies and learn about the possibilities within aviation,” said Roger Recker, Envoy Director of Operations at LGA. “Events like this remind us of the importance of representation and mentorship in shaping the next generation of aviation professionals.”
