In 2023, the Envoy Customer Services Planning team partnered with WHILL, the company behind our autonomous wheelchair devices used at Miami (MIA) and Los Angeles (LAX). These innovative wheelchairs are designed to assist customers with limited mobility in navigating to our gates independently, allowing our Customer Assistance Representatives (CARs) to focus on supporting others.
In a special video, learn more about how this partnership developed, including a scouting trip to Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport (HND), and a successful rollout at MIA later that year. From a successful MIA launch, LAX followed just a few months later. Now almost two years since the start of this partnership, WHILL continues to be an important part of our customer service operations at MIA and LAX.
