Three Envoy Employees Named 2026 Safety Champions

Every day, Envoy employees follow standard operating procedures and make decisions that help keep each other safe. The American Airlines Safety Champion Award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to identify risks, speak up about hazards, strengthen safety practices and lead by example.

We’re proud to share that three Envoy employees were selected by American as 2026 Safety Champions, earning recognition for their commitment to creating a safer workplace for coworkers, customers and our operation.

Brandon Hudson – Captain, Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas (DFW)

Brandon was recognized for his professionalism, sound judgment and situational awareness during an unexpected takeoff event. His industry-leading training and actions during this event helped protect both his crew and customers while safely managing a challenging situation.

Hugo Hernandez Melara – Lead Customer Service Agent BTW, Jackson Hole, Wyoming (JAC)

Hugo was recognized for his innovative approach to safety training. By combining hands-on demonstrations, real-world examples and engaging instruction, he helps new hires better understand safety procedures, improving retention and reducing the risk of errors.

Adam Stevenson – Customer Service Agent Cross Functional, Watertown, New York (ART)

Adam was recognized for his commitment to safety compliance and attention to detail. When he spotted that a guide person had not been fully trained, he put STOP into practice (Stop, Think, Observe, Proceed) and held pushback until a qualified employee was available. His strong situational awareness and a willingness to speak up when something didn’t seem right earned him a Safety Champion award.

Join us in congratulating Brandon, Hugo and Adam on being named 2026 Safety Champions.

Safety Champions are nominated by their peers and leaders for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to safety in their daily work. Nominations highlight real-world examples of leadership, accountability and care for others across the operation. A panel of employees and Safety leaders from across American Airlines Group reviews the nominations and selects the annual recipients.

As part of the honor, recipients receive 100,000 Nonstop Thanks points (equivalent to $1,000), a commemorative Safety Champion pin and a certificate. Winners and a guest will also travel to Dallas-Fort Worth in August 2026 for a special Safety recognition event with members of American’s leadership team.
